Post Broken Flute

On the outskirts of Old Ascalon and throughout the world, within my travels, I came across a curious object. That object was a broken flute. Now I know it had potential for money cuz I got 1gp for each one I sold. My question is this... Does it have any useful purpose or was it just there so it could gather dust in my inventory slot?

Looks like I figured it out while I was reading Photics Issue #15. I'll probably figure out the whole story there (since I'm not done reading yet). I am wondering now though... why in the world would an item be dropped that has no potential gain, except monetary value, beyond the area that it should have been in? For that matter, why are there other items dropped that have reasonable value except for market value?

I guess this whole question came about because I was so caught up with my current character that I never started a new toon in order to see what the "new content" was that the Devs added for the February BWE!

Someone please keep me current and get this old fart up to date!

i think the broken flute in old ascalon was meant to be a somber reminder of the peaceful times.. as for the other items, market value is generally determined by supply/demand on the specific npcs. outfitters only give you default prices. hopefully they will have the player market implemented soon.

Well, Mr. Tin Man, may I suggest you go talk to the Wizard about getting a heart. Then you will understand...

I killed the bull and got the quest to retrieve the flute, and she seemed to revive me at the worst times by playing her flute. Besides, it's fun giving her flowers. I haven't had anyone to give flowers to in ages.
